Sheet Metal Worker / Press Brake Operative
Location: Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- 7am – 3:30pm or
- 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary: From £13.00 per hour (£27,040 per annum), depending on experience
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
Overtime: Available on weekdays and Saturdays at time and a quarter and Sundays at time and a half

Twenty Four Hour Engineering Ltd is a privately owned, family-run engineering company based in the heart of Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent. Established in 1995, we operate from a 14,000 sq ft manufacturing facility specialising in bespoke fabrication, one-off projects, prototyping, architectural metalwork and batch manufacturing.
We work with stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, plastics and other non-ferrous metals, and are proud to be EN 1090 certified for the execution of both steel and aluminium structures.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit a Sheet Metal Worker / Press Brake Operative to join our production team.
The Role
Working alongside the Production Manager, you will play a key role in the daily manufacture of high-quality sheet metal components while maintaining the company's excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce sheet metal components to customer drawings and specifications.
- Operate manual and CNC press brakes.
- Use workshop machinery including guillotines, press brakes and hand tools.
- Carry out quality checks on completed work.
- Work closely with the Production Manager,
- Communicate professionally with customers when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
- Undertake additional duties, where reasonably requested, to support business needs.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in sheet metal work and Press Brake operations, ideally with both manual and CNC press brakes.
- The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- A positive, reliable and proactive attitude.
- A willingness to learn new skills and develop within the company.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
