Delivery Manager

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Delivery Manager to join a growing engineering business delivering innovative infrastructure and energy solutions across the UK.
Working across multiple deployment projects, you'll take ownership of coordinating activities from early site preparation through installation, commissioning, customer handover and ongoing operational support. You'll work closely with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on delivery role, suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, managing multiple stakeholders and driving complex engineering projects through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the successful delivery of multiple deployment projects from planning through to customer handover.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, engineering teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain project programmes, identifying critical path activities, risks and dependencies.
- Support contractor procurement, mobilisation and work package management.
- Ensure sites are fully prepared prior to installation, including surveys, access, utilities, permissions and logistics.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning and customer acceptance activities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to resolve technical queries and delivery challenges.
- Monitor project progress against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
- Maintain project documentation including risk registers, action logs, decision logs and progress reports.
- Coordinate customer communications throughout delivery and post-handover support.
- Support planned maintenance, upgrades, improvement works and operational follow-up after deployment.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving delivery processes, documentation and standardisation across future projects.
About You
You'll be an organised and proactive Delivery Manager with experience coordinating complex engineering or infrastructure projects involving multiple contractors and stakeholders.
You'll be comfortable balancing technical discussions with commercial awareness while maintaining excellent communication across customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Ideally you'll have experience within one or more of the following sectors:
- Renewable Energy
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Power Generation
- Electrical Infrastructure
- Industrial Automation
- Utilities
- Construction or EPC Projects
- Energy Infrastructure
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong contractor and supplier management experience.
- Excellent programme planning and coordination skills.
- Experience managing project risks, dependencies and change.
- Ability to interpret technical information and coordinate engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating commissioning and project handover activities.
- Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering projects.
- Experience working within renewable energy, power systems or battery storage.
- Familiarity with commissioning, FAT/SAT and handover processes.
- Experience working within fast-growing engineering organisations.
- PRINCE2, APM or PMP qualification (desirable but not essential).
