K9 Divisional Director
Home Based | Regional (North) with Regional and National Travel
£50,000 – £60,000 DOE + Company Benefits
Lead and shape a growing national K9 security operation.
We are looking for an experienced senior security leader to take strategic and operational responsibility for our national K9 Security Division.
This is a senior leadership appointment for someone who has already demonstrated the ability to lead through managers, oversee geographically dispersed operations and take responsibility for the performance of a significant K9 security function.
The successful candidate will bring substantial experience within the K9 security sector, strong commercial understanding and a proven track record of leading senior operational teams.
The Role
As K9 Divisional Director, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, development and growth of the national K9 division.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic leadership across the national K9 operation.
- Leading, managing and developing Operations Managers, Area Managers, Supervisors and K9 operational teams.
- Taking overall accountability for operational performance across multiple contracts and regions.
- Ensuring contracts are delivered safely, compliantly and to consistently high standards.
- Building and maintaining senior-level relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Driving commercial performance, contract profitability and business growth.
- Supporting tenders, mobilisations and new business opportunities.
- Setting and monitoring operational KPIs and performance standards.
- Overseeing training, competency, compliance and development programmes.
- Leading audits, continuous improvement and operational change initiatives.
- Providing senior leadership and direction during significant operational incidents.
- Contributing to wider business strategy and the continued growth of the K9 division.
About You
We are specifically looking for an established senior K9 security leader who has already operated at a senior management or Director level.
You will need to demonstrate:
- Significant senior management experience within the security industry, ideally including K9 operations.
- Proven experience managing Operations Managers, Area Managers or other senior operational managers.
- Experience leading a large, geographically dispersed security operation.
- Previous responsibility for multiple contracts, sites, teams and operational performance.
- Proven experience managing through other managers rather than solely managing frontline teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, KPIs, contract performance and profitability.
- Experience developing client relationships at senior level.
- A strong understanding of K9 security operations, SIA licensing, BS7858, canine compliance and relevant security legislation.
- Strong strategic leadership, decision-making and people management skills.
- The ability to balance strategic responsibility with operational oversight.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A valid SIA Licence.
Essential Senior Leadership Experience
This is not a first-step senior management position.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience of either:
- Working at Divisional Director, Director, Regional Director, Head of Security or equivalent level; or
- Managing multiple Security Managers, Operations Managers or equivalent senior operational leaders within a substantial security operation.
Candidates whose experience has primarily been limited to K9 Handler, Supervisor or single-site/contract management roles, without responsibility for managing other managers, are unlikely to meet the requirements of this position.
Desirable
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- Change Management qualification.
- Relevant K9 operational qualifications.
What We Offer
- £50,000 – £60,000 DOE.

- The opportunity to shape and develop a growing national K9 division.
- Ongoing professional development and career progression.
If you are an established K9 security leader with experience managing senior operational teams and are ready to take responsibility for a national division, we would like to hear from you.
