Job Description (Key Responsibilities)
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including authentic Chinese cuisine, to a high standard
- Follow standardised recipes and presentation specifications suited to takeaway service
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain accurate stock levels and monitor ingredient usage
- Order ingredients and supplies in consultation with the manager
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Manage multiple orders efficiently during busy service periods
Requirements
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in Chinese or Asian cuisine
- Strong culinary expertise and sound knowledge of cooking techniques
- Excellent knife skills and food preparation ability
- High attention to detail and consistency in food quality and presentation
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Strong organisational and stock management skills
- Good communication and team leadership abilities
