About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to oversee two Ofsted-registered solo children’s homes, each operating under individual registration.
These homes provide intensive, relationship-focused care (2:1 support) and operate with structured shift patterns supported by a full year’s rota to ensure stability for both children and staff teams.
You will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding care, strong safeguarding practice, and high-quality outcomes for children and young people.
Leadership & Support Structure
You will not be working alone. This role is supported by a strong operational and specialist framework, including:
- An experienced Operational Manager providing day-to-day leadership support
- Dedicated Assistant Managers within each home
- HR Business Partner, Recruitment, and Compliance teams
- Learning and Development support, including assistance for staff completing Level 3 qualifications
- Quality and Safeguarding specialists offering practical, hands-on guidance
- A Referrals Team ensuring thoughtful, needs-led matching of children to homes
You will also benefit from structured supervision, clear escalation routes, and ongoing leadership development.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage two small children’s residential homes
- Ensure compliance with SCCIF and Ofsted regulatory standards
- Deliver high-quality, relationship-based care focused on individual needs
- Oversee safeguarding practice and promote a strong culture of safety
- Manage staff performance, development, and supervision
- Work closely with operational and clinical support teams
- Ensure effective placement matching and stable home environments
- Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children
Candidate Profile
We are keen to hear from professionals with experience in:
- Children’s residential care
- Social work or youth services
- Education or SEN settings
- Youth justice or secure services
- Mental health or therapeutic care environments
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent)
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within care or related services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and care regulations (SCCIF)
- Resilient, child-centred and relationship-focused leadership approach
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
- Experience managing or supporting Ofsted-registered services
