We currently have a brilliant opportunity for a Workshop Engineer to join our growing team.
Job Purpose:
Working on a range of equipment including industrial gates, steel framework, bespoke frames and posts.
The role is varied with a range of work types from new manufacture through to repairs and refurbishment.
The team works to tight deadlines whilst having to meet clear quality and finish standards. All equipment leaving the workshop must be fit for purpose and sufficiently durable for the demanding environment in which it will be used.
Main Duties:
- To abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved policies & processes are followed.
- To perform Mig welding working with mainly Mild Steel.
- Positive team player who is happy to help with whatever’s needed to get the job done for high profile customers
- Enthusiasm to grow with the company, taking on new projects as the company and department grows
- All aspects of welding & fabrication
- To interpret engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
- To perform general mechanical skills
- Ensure production timings are met/exceeded
- Selecting, measuring, cutting, and welding & fabricating to the required specifications
- Able to setup the MIG welders to perform a range of different welds dependent upon materials and design.
- You are responsible for your own working area which should be always kept clean and tidy.
- Assisting with Assembly of products
- Keeping the yard and workshop tidy, especially the areas you are working in.
- Take care of tools supplied by the company
- Assisting with loading and unloading of Lorries, forklift license would be an advantage.
- To carry out any other duties as required by your Manager or the Directors.
Essential skills required:
Welding – MIG
Knowledge and ability in hydraulics and electrics would be an advantage
Full current driving licence
Experience within a busy workshop environment
Able to interpret and work accurately to engineering drawings
Understanding of electrical drawings
Desirable skills:
Telehandler or Fork Lift Licence
Experience and knowledge of LV electrical systems
Experience and knowledge of control systems
Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:30am-16:30pm
Friday- 7:30am-16:00pm
