Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Part-Time General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the workshop and yard, helping with deliveries, glazing assistance, organisation of materials, and general operational tasks. This is a varied hands-on role suited to someone practical, hardworking, and willing to help wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Carry out local deliveries in a safe and professional manner
- Assist with glazing and general workshop duties
- Help organise and sort timber and briquette deliveries
- Load and unload materials and stock
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and yard areas
- Support with general labouring and manual handling tasks
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely as instructed
- Work alongside team members to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Report any hazards, damages, or equipment issues promptly
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Previous workshop, labouring, delivery, or trade experience beneficial but not essential
- Good practical skills and common sense
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety preferred
