Potato Storage and Grading Manager
Scutt Farming are looking for a potato storage and grading manager to join our enterprise in Eastrington growing high quality potatoes for wholesale and local delivery to fish and chip shops. You will be a part of a small, family run business with more than 150 years of farming experience and working with up-to-date, well maintained machinery and equipment.
You will take charge of a small team and busy grading shed to keep operations moving, orders dispatched on time, and other departments reliant on stock flowing productively.
You will be paid an hourly rate plus overtime at a higher rate
What you'll be doing
- Running the yard and grading operation day to day
- Leading and supporting a team on shift
- Overseeing forklift movement and site traffic
- Making sure the product is graded correctly and standards are met
- Keeping the yard organised, safe, and running smoothly
- Adhering to Red Tractor Standards as instructed by office staff
- Documenting potato storage locations within the sheds ensuring accuracy
- Stepping in to support wider operations when needed
What we are looking for
- Experience supervising or managing a team
- Background in fresh produce, food production, warehouse, agriculture, or similar
- Good communication and an ability to communicate with farm staff and office staff effectively
- Excellent organisational skills and documentation skills. An eye for accuracy and detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving operational environment
- Own transport required due to location
