Cook Required – Care Home Position
50 HOURS IN TWO WEEKS (Option for increased hours)
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly team at Melbourne House Care Home, where we provide care for up to 23 residents.
Shift Pattern: 7.30am – 5.30pm (10-hour shifts)
You will be part of a team of three cooks working on a rolling rota, ensuring excellent meal provision for our residents throughout the week.
Main responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents
Ensuring all food is cooked and presented to a high standard
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness in line with regulations
Planning meals and catering for individual dietary requirements and preferences
Monitoring food stock and assisting with ordering supplies
Working closely with the care team to provide a positive dining experience for residents
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous cooking experience (care home or catering experience desirable)
Takes pride in producing high-quality meals
Has good knowledge of food hygiene and safety
Is organised, dependable and able to work independently
Enjoys working with older people and contributing to their wellbeing
