Summary
We are looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Cumbrian Dreams.
This is a varied role combining hands on cleaning, quality control, team supervision and housekeeping admin. You will be required to clean properties, support changeovers, carry out deep cleans, help maintain the cleanliness and safety of our private indoor pool and make sure our properties are guest ready.
Alongside the cleaning work, you will also support the office team with scheduling cleans and jobs, organising the cleaning team, managing stock, supporting laundry processes and helping improve systems across the housekeeping department.
This role would suit someone with experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hotel housekeeping, holiday lets or hospitality who is ready to take on more responsibility.
The Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor will help with the day to day running of housekeeping across our holiday properties and pool site.
Our main property changeover days are usually Mondays and Fridays. We have two main property sites, one in Cargo and one in Wigton, with pool cleaning based in Dalston.
The private indoor pool requires regular morning cleaning, including weekends, which can be worked on a rota. This also includes safe chemical use. All chemicals are provided and full training will be given.
A small company van is available for work travel between sites.
Cleaning Duties
Carry out hands on cleaning across holiday properties and leisure spaces.
Support property changeovers, usually on Mondays and Fridays but can be other days.
Carry out deep cleans and additional cleaning tasks where required.
Clean and chemical check the private indoor pool.
Assist with cleaning and upkeep of the pool, including safe chemical use.
Follow detailed cleaning checklists to ensure consistency and high standards.
Prepare properties before guest arrival, including checking presentation and guest essentials.
Help with laundry, linen, towels and stock control.
Help make sure every guest arrives to a spotless and welcoming space.
Supervisory, Admin and Organisation Duties
Supervise and support the cleaning team across multiple sites.
Help recruit, train and develop cleaners as the business grows.
Support the office team with scheduling cleaning jobs, changeovers and tasks.
Help allocate cleaning staff to the correct properties and jobs.
Carry out quality assurance checks before guest arrival.
Support housekeeping admin, including checklists, cleaning records, job updates and reporting issues.
Monitor stock levels and make sure cleaning supplies, linen, towels and guest essentials are available.
Support laundry processes and help keep linen and towels organised.
Work alongside the maintenance team to report issues, follow up jobs and make sure properties are guest ready.
Support with guest communication where housekeeping, maintenance or property readiness issues arise.
Support occasional out of hours guest issues as part of a shared team approach.
Report damages, maintenance concerns or guest readiness issues to the wider team.
Help improve systems and processes so the cleaning operation runs smoothly.
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and guest experience at all times.
Requirements
Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping or hospitality.
Experience supervising, supporting or organising a small team would be an advantage.
Pool cleaning experience would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be given.
Reliable, efficient and friendly, with an eye for detail and a proactive attitude.
Strong attention to detail and pride in high standards.
Happy to work in a role that is a mix of hands on cleaning and admin.
Comfortable supporting and supervising a small cleaning team.
Confident working independently and as part of a team.
Confident working and travelling across multiple sites.
Able to work mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Driving licence needed due to property locations. A small company van is available for work travel between sites.
What We Offer
