Position: Operations Engineer
Location: Dorking and surrounding areas
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
On-Call: 24-hour callout rota, including occasional weekend and out-of-hours work
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Engineer to join a leading international organisation on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical or electrical engineer with strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines to join an innovative organisation focused on improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions and supporting clients on their journey towards Net Zero.
The Role
As an Operations Engineer, you will carry out both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on installations across Dorking and the surrounding area.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on customer installations
- Diagnosing faults and implementing effective maintenance solutions
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Maintaining and optimising operational systems
- Improving productivity and reducing unnecessary use of time and materials
- Responding to reactive maintenance requirements
- Participating in the established 24-hour callout rota
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A minimum of ONC, NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Motor Vehicle Studies or an equivalent qualification
- To be a competent, time-served technician
- Ideally, a minimum of 3 years' industrial mechanical and/or electrical experience
- In-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills, including competency with Microsoft Office
- A full, valid driving licence
- Strong problem-solving skills and a professional approach to customer service
