We're looking for an experienced Bar Manager to join the team at The Hawthorn in Shepherd's Bush.
The Hawthorn is a busy, independent neighbourhood pub with a loyal local following. We pride ourselves on being the kind of pub people return to several times a week, whether it's for a perfectly kept pint, a great bottle of wine, a well-made cocktail or simply the warm welcome they know they'll receive every time.

The Role
As Bar Manager, you'll be responsible for leading one of the busiest and most exciting bar operations in our group.
You'll lead by example, create a brilliant atmosphere and ensure every guest receives knowledgeable, friendly and professional service, whether they're ordering a perfectly kept pint of cask ale, exploring our wine list or enjoying a classic cocktail.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves being behind the bar, coaching their team and taking genuine pride in creating a venue that guests choose to visit time and time again.
You'll be trusted to take ownership of the bar operation, maintain exceptional standards and help shape the future of one of West London's best neighbourhood pubs.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the bar team during busy services
- Delivering consistently warm, knowledgeable and professional hospitality
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of service and presentation
- Training, coaching and developing the front-of-house team
- Managing stock, ordering and minimising wastage
- Ensuring excellent cellar management and consistently high-quality cask ale
- Maintaining outstanding product knowledge across beer, wine and cocktails
- Driving cocktail consistency and quality
- Opening and closing the business independently
- Supporting rotas and day-to-day management
- Working closely with the General Manager to continually improve the guest experience
Who we're looking for
You'll ideally have experience as:
- Bar Manager
- Assistant Manager
- Duty Manager
- Assistant General Manager
- Senior Supervisor ready to step up
More importantly, you'll be someone who:
- Has significant experience working in busy, quality-led pubs
- Understands what makes a true neighbourhood local successful
- Is passionate about perfectly kept cask ale and quality beer
- Has an excellent knowledge of wine and enjoys confidently recommending it to guests
- Can produce consistently excellent classic cocktails
- Leads from the front and thrives under pressure
- Takes genuine pride in standards and attention to detail
- Enjoys developing and motivating a team
- Wants to build a long-term career with an ambitious independent pub group
