We are hiring a Transport Supervisor to join our Meadow View team. You will play a key role in supporting the Group Transport Lead with overseeing authorised driver processes and managing the fleet of vehicles, while also supervising the Meadow View Driver/Support team.
This is a varied role, with approximately 50% focused on providing Driver Support. You will help facilitate safe and reliable transport for the people we support in and around the local area, as well as offering hands-on support during activities in line with individual support plans.
You will contribute to maintaining compliance with Safe Driving policies, managing driver and vehicle records through the Driver Management System and fleet tracking tools, and ensuring all vehicles are safe, serviced, and fit for purpose. You will also support with incident reporting, insurance records, and coordination of servicing and repairs.
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who is confident supervising a team, maintaining accurate records, and delivering a high standard of service. You will be patient, flexible, and committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and positive experience of the people we support at all times.
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of relevant aspects of health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations covering licensing, insurance and road use.
- Knowledge of local area, including street names, major landmarks and one-way systems
Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Ability to manage own time and multiple tasks effectively, working autonomously and using own initiative.
- Ability to use and input onto computer-based systems
- Ability to form and promote positive relationships with and between people who use our services, colleagues and representatives of outside agencies.
- Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
- Ability to work evening, weekend and night shifts as required
Qualifications
Essential
- Full clean UK driving license
Desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Relevant Level 3 Supervisor Award
- An understanding of the type of difficulties that the people who use our service may face
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working as an effective team member
Desirable
- Experience of working with people who have learning disabilities
- Experience of delivering a road passenger transport service (Bus, PSV, Minibus, People Carrier, etc.)
