Cleaning Area Manager – Southwest Region
Reporting to: Regional Director
Main purpose of Role
Manage the client relationship directly, visiting the sites on a periodic basis as set out in the client agreement, conduct joint inspections with the client ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
Carry out regular client meetings and assist line manager with contract reviews, providing reports on SLA/KPI’s or other matters as agreed
Monitor standards of cleaning across sites through the checking of supervisor quality audits, and by attending and carrying out self-audits or joint audits/inspections
Monitor standards of cleaning during cleaning shifts through the by attending & monitoring cleanings standards & staff to align with BICSs standards. Visit cleaning shifts regularly to monitor and motivate teams.
Set job schedules and periodic planners and ensure that these are completed
Provide quotations for one off or ad hoc works directly to clients or via support team
Provide sign off or evidence of client satisfaction as required for invoicing purpose
Recruit, interview, induct, and train staff in company and site processes to achieve required standards of performance.
Ensure company procedures for new starters is followed and that all documentation and ID is present and forwarded to the head office be deadlines
Complete DBS checks/security vetting forms for staff as required, ensure prompt return forms and update documentation for clients records
Develop and train new starters / operatives on cleaning methods/standards to achieve required standards of performance
Responsible for dealing with attendance, conduct and poor performance, manage the HR process and conduct/chair formal meetings as required, supporting line manager when necessary
Direct Supervisors to carry out cleaning where required to improve standards or to cover absenteeism, or if no supervisor is present be prepared to lead by example and be hands on
Manage consumables, materials and service levels arranging for ordering & restocking as required.
Monitor attendance via site/cleaners timesheets, and ensure correct completion and recording of absence returns
Undertake staff appraisal and probation reviews as required
Ensure correct distribution and upkeep of staff PPE and equipment
Adhere to Company specific Monthly Operational KPIs to measure Service Managers Performance
Responsibilities/Duties:
Compliance and Reporting
Ensure that health and safety standards are always maintained. Advise the Health and Safety Representatives of potential risk areas.
Ensure that the AIM QSHE, Risk, and Business Continuity protocols are adhered to and maintained.
Delivery of the monthly client audit program.
Providing support and assistance to the business on venue and group issues where required.
Communicating with the Regional Director & Business Support to ensure they remain fully informed of all significant operational risk issues.
Ensure that the operations meet all statutory requirements and all operational policies and procedures are maintained to comply with business and ISO requirements.
Ensure all Master budget control sheets are kept up to date with the accounts team.

Maintain effective communication by developing and maintaining professional working relationships with all colleagues, clients and customers.
Provide regular feedback ensuring all developments and problems in your areas of responsibility.
