As the regional manager you will be responsible for building a new region of door-to-door fundraisers.
This role is perfect for a Regional Manager or an experienced Deputy looking to take their career to the next level.
Main areas of responsibility:
· Line Manage up to 4 Team Leaders, ensuring the delivery of weekly 121s and monthly reviews for their performance
· Responsibility for up to 20 full-time Fundraisers, including distance management of remote teams, and line-management of teams where Team Leaders are not present.
· Accountable for the performance of teams to hit financial, supporter and attrition targets
· Ensure that each Fundraiser and Team Leader fully understands their role and responsibilities and can achieve their targets and KPIs in line with agreed budgets
· Manage, coach and develop Team Leaders to be high performers leading from the front and driving their teams to success
· Monitor performance of Face-to-Face Fundraisers to ensure they hit and exceed minimum department targets, and where necessary implement appropriate performance management measures
· Take appropriate action to address any instances of misconduct
· Responsible for supporting and promoting an open culture around wellbeing among Fundraisers and Team Leaders
· Responsible for ensuring that Fundraisers and Team Leaders behave in a manner consistent with Greenpeace’s values, and with Greenpeace/Inspired People and cIOF codes of conduct.
· Undertake and prioritise the day to day tasks that will ensure the smooth running of the teams and the implementation of the programme strategy
Staff Training and Development (Doors and Festivals)
· In conjunction with the Training and Recruitment Officer and Deputy Head of F2F (Engagement), provide new Fundraisers with excellent training, coaching and support
· Lead by example to model good fundraising practice and fundraising results, hitting personal fundraising targets as agreed with the Deputy Head of F2F (Engagement)
· Oversee the management, coaching, motivation, and development of Fundraisers and Team Leaders
· Work side by side with Fundraisers and Team Leaders to support, motivate and empower them through coaching and feedback, including demonstration of fundraising through personal fundraising
· Manage, coach and develop Team Leaders
· Responsible for the delivery of fundraiser training in the field
· Occasionally required to deliver interviews and/or classroom based day 1 and 2 training for Fundraisers
· Stay abreast of campaign developments and ensure all Fundraisers have the most relevant and accurate information about Greenpeace and our campaign work
· Constantly look to aid personal development through mentoring, coaching and guiding of Fundraisers
About you:
Experience;
· Significant campaign management and line management experience
· Strong operational knowledge of face-to-face fundraising, especially door to door
· Track record of motivating groups of people and performance management
· Experience in successfully leading and developing Face to Face Fundraisers and Team Leaders, including field training
Knowledge/ Technical skills:
· IT literate – Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
· Understand cIOF regulations and other legislation relevant to Face to Face Fundraising
· An up to date understanding of the face to face fundraising sector
· An understanding of environmental issues and Greenpeace’s campaigns
· Experience and skills in reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Personal Qualities:
· Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to develop strong working relationships with external partners and internal departments
· Experience in leading face to face fundraising teams
· Ability to make tough and often unpopular decisions in a timely manner
· People management experience and skills
· Excellent motivational and training skills
· Strong working knowledge of staff recruitment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to carry out presentations
· Excellent numerical skills and ability to analyse campaign results
· Proactive approach to work with a keenness to progress in fundraising
· Strong team worker and self-motivator
· Willingness to use initiative and have the confidence to make decisions
· Demonstrated time management skills, and ability to work under pressure
