Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of butchery goods to various hospitality locations, maintaining excellent customer service standards. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the efficient operation of our logistics services.
Candidate must be over 30 years old.
Candidate must be available to work Saturdays.
Days off are Sundays plus one midweek day.
Start times can vary, but are on average 5.00am.
Duties
- Safely operate company delivery vans to transport goods to designated destinations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet schedules
- Load and unload items, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for upon receipt
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during driving operations
- Assist in warehouse activities as required, including stock organisation and inventory checks
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence
- Experience with commercial vehicles, preferably vans
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
