Apex Stone is looking for an experienced Senior IT Manager to join our growing team in London. You'll play a key role in overseeing IT systems, infrastructure and service delivery while mentoring junior team members and driving best practices across the department.
Working closely with Operations, Security and Business teams, you'll contribute to the technical direction of our IT environment and help deliver reliable, secure systems that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, delivery and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Lead technical strategy discussions and infrastructure decisions.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver system improvements and new capabilities.
- Troubleshoot escalated issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Own IT budgets, vendor relationships and procurement decisions.
- Ensure IT security, compliance and data protection standards are upheld.
- Champion system reliability, performance and user satisfaction.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- 5+ years' experience in IT management or senior IT leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems administration.
- Experience managing IT teams and vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience with IT governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong budgeting and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
- Relevant certifications (ITIL, PRINCE2, or similar).
- Experience with digital transformation or IT modernisation projects.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and frameworks.
- Experience mentoring managers or leading large IT teams.
- Background in enterprise-scale IT operations.
