The Clifton Arms is a 4 star Hotel based in the centre of Lytham, we are now looking to recruit a reliable, dedicated Night Porter to join the team, working 2 or 3 nights per week.
As Night Manager you will:
Main objectives:
1. You must be attentive to every customer’s request and respond with a genuine desire to deliver.
2. You must ensure that the current service standards are consistently met in accordance with the Standards of Excellence for each department and the shift procedures in place.
3. Ensure the security of the building, customers and employees whilst following legislation and health & safety procedures relevant to your role, particularly fire precautions.
4. Ensure that Night Audit runs successfully and that duties clearly stated in the Night Manager Shift Procedures are completed.
5. Cleaning procedures are given particular attention to maintain the high standard of cleanliness expected, this is to include all areas of the ground floor but especially the toilets, snug, restaurant, bar, front entrance and back entrance.
Working relationships:
Reports directly to the Hotel Manager.
Also maintain close working relationships with the General Manager and all Department Managers.
Co-ordinate and liaise with the Manager(s) on duty in all aspects of operations relevant to the job role.
Co-ordinate and liaise with the Receptionist to ensure any relevant information is handed over and correctly administered on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
You must understand the customer service standards expected and receive the necessary training and support to guarantee these are consistently achieved.
You must place a high value on cooperation and teamwork within the department and the hotel as a whole.
You must take responsibility for your own personal development to ensure that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform your role effectively.
Conduct yourself in a way and to a standard that demonstrates the highest levels of integrity, service standards and cleanliness, thereby acting as an exemplary role model throughout the department and the hotel.
Ensure that general enquiries from customers and suppliers are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure that customer complaints are referred to the relevant Department Manager or General Manager at the earliest opportunity.
Ensure that the arrival, stay and check out of guests are dealt with in a manner to provide the best quality of customer experience.
Ensure that all guest accounts are processed accurately and correctly.
Maintain the upkeep of all the equipment in the department so it is in a condition to be serviceable, thereby minimising unnecessary expenditure.
Pass on relevant information at the end of each shift or in the event of any other handover of responsibility.
Report and log any structural or equipment defects immediately to the maintenance department.
The nightly tasks sheet has been completed in relation to any other duties that have been requested by a Manager such as printing of stationary, setting up the restaurant for breakfast and setting up of functions rooms as required.
Attend any courses, training programmes or workshops as required by the Reception Manager.
Carry out other reasonable duties as required.
General Responsibilities
1. To be a valued member of the Clifton Arms team, helping and advising colleagues where required, promoting the image of the business, and that of the company, at all times through active sales activity and a positive approach.
2. To be aware of the security of the hotel and the people in it. Be familiar with all emergency procedures and act positively both in the event of an emergency and to prevent one.
To be aware of and ensure that those responsible to you are aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirements are met including: Licensing; Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions and any others.
