Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter and Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, joinery, and related trades, with the ability to work on diverse projects ranging from residential to commercial constructions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with practical experience in woodworking, roofing, masonry, and mechanical tasks to contribute to high-quality building projects. Duties
- Constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures using wood, metal, and other materials
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
- Performing heavy lifting tasks to move materials or components as required
- Applying knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, and general carpentry principles
- Assisting with site preparation and clean-up to ensure a safe working environment
- Reading technical drawings and specifications accurately to execute projects accordingly
- Collaborating with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines
- Conducting routine inspections of completed work for quality assurance and compliance with safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in welding, carpentry, joinery, roofing, masonry, or related trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices
- Competence with power tools including drills, sanders, grinders, and nail guns
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to construction and building maintenance
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Experience in commercial driving is advantageous for transporting materials between sites
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations within construction environments
