This creates an atmosphere of joy, excitement and exploration where families can observe their children as they blossom and grow.

An opportunity has arisen to grow our team of play practitioners. We are looking for someone who has a genuine love of working with children and their families and who is committed to supporting children to flourish.
You must have a passion for scaffolding our young children’s learning through play experiences. You will have the responsibility of leading and supervising one hour planned ‘Wee Early Years Explorer’ play sessions with up to 18 children aged 2- 5 years and their families.
A positive, enthusiastic, confident and fun attitude is essential for this role. The skill of being a natural host would be advantageous as interacting and building relationships with the families attending is key, your communication skills should be effective to ensure that these connections can be made.
You will have the responsibility of ensuring the health and safety of children attending the sessions.
You will set up and lead experiences and invitations to play within our Wee Explorers playroom, attention to detail is essential.
Ensuring the play environment is clean, tidy and ready to a high standard for the children and their families to join will be part of your duties before and after the play sessions this will include ensuring records are properly maintained to fulfil legal requirements.
A relevant childcare or teaching qualification is preferred and experience of working with young children in a play or educational setting is essential.
This is a part time, term time position that offers hours to fit inside the school day.
We are currently looking for someone who can take a session on a Monday and Tuesday morning. If you would prefer more hours this can be discussed as the option to run more sessions in the future may be available. There are some wonderful opportunities within Wee Explorers to progress with the company as we have other programmes that are currently being developed and will be being launched in the near future!
Wee Explorers is located in the rural setting of Barnhill Farm so driving would be essential.
You will be recruited on a sessional basis at the rate of £15.00 per hour.
You will be fully trained in-house at Wee Explorers and support will always be on hand whenever you need it.
