Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for erecting, maintaining, and dismantling scaffolding structures on various building sites. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of construction practices and be comfortable working at heights in a physically demanding environment.
Duties
- Erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding structures in accordance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Inspect scaffolding for stability and safety throughout the duration of the project.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, roofers, plumbers, and electricians to ensure seamless workflow.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble scaffolding components.
- Fabricate custom scaffolding parts when necessary to meet specific site requirements.
- Assist with site preparation, including material handling and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Proven experience in scaffolding or relevant construction roles such as carpentry, roofing, or masonry is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction painting, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is advantageous.
- Competence in handling hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to scaffolding and working at heights.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics is desirable.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working at elevated heights.
- Relevant certifications such as CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme) are highly regarded.
