Overview
We are seeking a proactive, dedicated and skilled grounds person to join our growing team. You will be working alongside our small, friendly team to maintain the outdoor communal areas of our properties across Kent.
Most of our properties are in the Dartford and Medway areas but occasionally, you may be required to work in other parts of Kent.
This role involves a variety of landscape maintenance, requiring a strong understanding of gardening and maintenance services.
The successful candidate will contribute to the upkeep of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and well-maintained.
This is a full time position, hours 8-4 Monday-Friday. During the summer months, we may require you to extend your hours which will be returned to you during the winter months. A company vehicle, uniform and all equipment will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, leaf blowing and weeding to ensure a strong visual appeal.
- Operate various power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for routine maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, equipment, and work areas to uphold safety standards.
- Maintaining a strong relationship with our residents and providing excellent customer service.
- Other jobs will involve litter picking, emptying bins, removing fly tipping, tidying bin stores, internal and external painting and other jobs that arise.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures for gardening.
- Basic understanding of horticultural principles and plant care techniques.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Candidates should be physically fit, reliable, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
