Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to schedules
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and supporting their professional development
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils in accordance with health regulations
- Support during service to ensure timely delivery of dishes and exceptional customer experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Previous experience in restaurant operations or catering environments is highly desirable
