Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers, maintaining excellent communication throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. A valid driver’s licence and previous delivery experience are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans and lorries, in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
- Deliver goods to customers promptly and efficiently, ensuring accurate order fulfilment
- Assist with loading and unloading items, which may involve heavy lifting and manual handling
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures upon receipt of goods
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a secure working environment
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a commercial or warehouse setting
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car, van, lorry)
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and navigation tools is advantageous
- Experience in commercial driving or logistics is desirable but not essential
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required and handle physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Applicants must have held a full UK licence for at least 12 months.
