Finance Officer - Rents

About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Finance Officer (Rents) to join our Finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in rent setting, housing finance, or income management who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
In this role, you`ll play a key part in ensuring accurate rent services are delivered across the organisation, helping maximise income collection while ensuring compliance with housing regulations and legislation.
What you`ll be doing:
- Processing annual rent increases and ensuring rents are charged accurately in line with Local Housing Allowance regulations.
- Calculating annual rental income budgets and supporting financial planning activities.
- Managing rental receipts, banking processes, and daily reconciliations.
- Ensuring service charges and rent charges are legally compliant and correctly applied.
- Investigating and resolving rent-related queries efficiently.
- Working closely with internal departments to support new schemes and services.
- Supporting compliance with relevant legislation including GDPR, Health & Safety, and Leasehold Reform requirements.
About you
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
- Experienced in rent setting or housing finance within a complex organisation.
- Knowledgeable about housing sector rent regimes and income/debtor`s processes.
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and financial/housing management systems.
- A collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset.
