We are currently looking to hire a Deputy Manager for one of our care homes in Thanet, Kent who will have an integral role in ensuring our care home residents’ needs are met to the highest standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or for an ambitious, Senior Healthcare Assistant who is looking to step into a lifelong, fulfilling management career.
Your role will be to work alongside the Registered Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the home, deputise in their absence and supervise the staff. Great organisational skills and understanding of the management of a care setting. Knowledge, experience and understanding of CQC regulations are essential.
This role is not for the faint-hearted, as it comes with challenges, as you will have to assist the Manager in implementing new systems and optimising operations.
Key responsibilities are –
- Supporting the Care Home Manager in the day to day activities of running the home and deputise in their absence
- Leading and supervising staff
- Ensuring that all medications, including controlled drugs are ordered, stored, administered and disposed of in accordance with the Trusts Medicines Policy, NMC and CQC guidance on drug administration
- Developing & reviewing Care plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy at all times
- Supporting the Manager in the management of budgets and resources including duty rotas and skill mix requirements.
- Undertaking all appropriate aspects of nursing care required including advanced clinical skills as required following appropriate training.
- Providing information, advice and support to residents/families and maintaining good, constant communication on both sides
Requirements –
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Residential/Dementia Care experience
- To be computer-literate
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Basic Math/Number skills
- An empathetic and caring attitude
- A good understanding of the CQC regulations
