Nursery Manager (Childcare – Flying Start)
Location: Ely, Cardiff
Hours: 35 hours per week (Term-Time Only, 8:30am – 4:00pm)

Essential Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet These)
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Childcare
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in a nursery/childcare setting
- Previous managerial experience
- Strong organisational, communication, and team management skills
- Passionate about delivering high-quality childcare
Desirable
- Level 5 qualification in Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
- Ability to communicate in Welsh or other community languages

The Role
We are seeking a confident and motivated Setting Leader to manage our setting in Ely based at Herbert Thompsons primary school Cardiff. You will lead by example, support your team, and work closely with the Area Setting Leader to ensure the highest standards of care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the setting
- Open and close the setting as required
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff development
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping and compliance
- Ensure adherence to health & safety policies and risk assessments
- Work collaboratively with other Cardiff-based settings
- Liaise with external professionals (e.g. Speech & Language, Health Services)
