Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to Helpdesk requests remotely via the IT ticketing system
- Help desk calls - taking help desk calls and logging them in the IT ticketing system
- Hardware and software repairs
- Installation of hardware and software
- Carry out network documentation and reporting
- Assisting with sourcing spare parts and replacement equipment
- Assisting the Technical team with maintenance tasks and installs
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
On completion, the Apprentice will be awarded the Level 3 Information Communications
Technician Apprenticeship.
The apprentice's training schedule
The classroom training for the Information Communications Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
The modules taught are:
- Network Fundamentals
- Mobility and Operating Systems
- Cloud Fundamentals
- IT Business Principles
Each module is delivered remotely over five consecutive days, with the training weeks scheduled at intervals throughout the apprenticeship.
Additional training information
- We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider. We provide apprenticeships for a wide range of employers, large and small.
- Some of your working hours will be spent training or studying with your appointed JBC Trainer/Mentor or your employer. Learning the skills you need to be successful in the role and complete the apprenticeship.
- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio.

The employer is looking to offer full time employment upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship. We believe in developing our talent internally and have a clear and personalised progression route for each of our employees which is reviewed annually
The majority of our management team started out as apprentices, and we have a history of training and developing well-rounded staff members from apprenticeship level.

· GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A*-C / 9-4) essential
· GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade A*-C / 9-4) essential
Things to consider
Must have a Valid UK Driving license and use of a car as you will need to travel between the school and the main office based in Cranfield Technology Park, Cranfield University (especially within the 1st few weeks of the apprenticeship for training.)
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
