Band 2 Healthcare Assistant – Ward 3 Vascular Surgery, Glan Clwyd Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Directorate at Glan Clwyd Hospital for a number of permanent full-time and part-time Band 2 Healthcare Assistants to join Ward 3 Vascular Surgery.
Ward 3 is a 23-bedded specialist Vascular Surgery Ward and forms part of the centralised North Wales Vascular Service at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The ward cares for patients requiring both elective and emergency vascular treatment from across North Wales.
As a member of the Ward 3 team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to patients throughout their treatment and recovery journey. Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to ensuring patients receive safe, effective and person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
Ward 3 offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a specialist vascular setting while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering outstanding patient care. As part of the centralised vascular service for North Wales, the ward provides exposure to a diverse range of vascular conditions and surgical procedures, making it an ideal environment for developing clinical knowledge and experience
Deliver high-quality, compassionate, patient-centred care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and meeting hygiene needs whilst maintaining dignity and privacy at all times.
Support patients with eating, drinking, mobility and activities of daily living.
Assist in the safe movement and handling of patients in accordance with local policies and procedures.
Support patients recovering from vascular surgery and those living with vascular conditions.
Assist in ensuring patients are comfortable and promptly report any concerns or changes in a patient's condition to the Registered Nurse.
Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming ward environment.
Assist with stocking clinical areas and ensuring equipment and supplies are readily available.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Promote patient independence, wellbeing and a positive patient experience throughout their hospital stay.
Adhere to Health Board policies, procedures and standards at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
