The Home Club is an independent, award-winning lettings and property management agency in the heart of Guildford. We look after a substantial local portfolio for landlords who trust us to treat their properties and their tenants properly. We are now looking for an experienced Property Manager to join us on a maternity cover basis, with a real chance of staying on permanently if it is the right fit on both sides.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already knows residential property management, enjoys keeping a lot of plates spinning, and takes pride in getting things sorted properly the first time. You will be part of a supportive, experienced team that cares about doing the job well, not just clearing the inbox.
What you'll be doing
- Managing your own portfolio of residential rental properties from day to day
- Being the main point of contact for landlords, tenants and contractors, and keeping everyone informed
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs from first report through to completion, and following up so nothing slips
- Handling tenancy renewals, rent reviews and property inspections
- Keeping every property compliant with current lettings legislation, including gas safety, EICRs, EPCs, deposit protection and Right to Rent
- Spotting and resolving issues quickly, and knowing when to escalate
- Keeping accurate records so the file always tells the full story
What we're looking for
- Previous residential property management experience (this one is essential)
- Strong, up to date knowledge of current lettings legislation, including the Renters' Rights Act
- Excellent organisation and the ability to prioritise when several things land at once
- Clear, warm communication with landlords, tenants and contractors alike
- A proactive, problem-solving approach and genuine pride in good service
- Someone who works well in a close team but can also run their own desk
- A full UK driving licence

The details
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday per month with a day in lieu.
Work Location: In person, Guildford GU1 3UY
