We are looking for an experienced SENCO to lead and coordinate Special Educational Needs and Disability provision across our Bradford sites. You will ensure our practice meets the requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework, SEND Code of Practice, and Ofsted expectations, supporting children with additional needs from their earliest years.
Key Responsibilities Lead, develop and monitor inclusive practice for children birth to 5 years across all nurseries.
Work closely with nursery teams to identify, assess and support children with SEND.
Write and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Support Plans and EHCP applications.
Liaise with external professionals: speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, health visitors, and local authority SEND services Provide training, guidance and mentoring to staff on supporting children with additional needs Communicate clearly and sensitively with parents and carers, ensuring they are fully involved
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements Attend relevant meetings, reviews and multi-agency forums
Essential Requirements
Proven experience working with children from birth to 5 years in an early years setting Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar SEND support role
Good knowledge of the EYFS, SEND Code of Practice 0–25, and relevant legislation Understanding of early identification of needs and graduated response.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents and external agencies Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
Hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one) Eligibility to work in the UKDesirable
Completed or working towards the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination.
Experience supporting children with a range of needs including communication, physical, sensory and social-emotional development.
Knowledge of Bradford local authority SEND processes.
Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
