About Community Integrated Care
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.
Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.
Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.
We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.
Working closely with the Service Leader and Support Worker Team, you will be responsible for supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health concerns to live their daily lives. Each person we support is unique, so the support you provide will be person-centred and will focus on achieving the best lives possible with them.
Our Shifts: 1000 - 2200 into sleep shift then 0700 - 1000
Hours to be filled: 15
There are lots of stairs so its not so good if you have mobility issues. We have 1 staff on each day from 10am sleep in and finish at 10am next day. We also have a member of staff who works with one lady on a 1;1 for 5 hours and also supports everyone else for 5 hours as part of the core hours.
Contract: Permanent
Driving License required: No
What you will be doing
You will be supporting 5 people who live in their own flats and share a communal area downstairs. We have some behaviours around young people living together who have capacity in most areas but are vulnerable. Staff need to be friendly and helpful and an understanding and empathy for the people who live there.
- We have some people who hoard and need support with this, we have one gent who drinks most of the day and games through the night, he can get a bit verbal but means no harm.
- We have a young lady who we try to encourage to engage with us but its not easy as she needs support but will refuse it.
All people we support are all individuals with differing needs goals and its about reading support plans and spending time with them to see what they need from staff to enhance their lives and support them to reach their goals and inspire their dreams
You will be trained in medication, finance and personal care.
