Viewpark Family Centre Association Ltd is a registered Scottish charity and Care Inspectorate registered childcare provider delivering high-quality services for children, young people and families within our local community.
We provide Playgroup, Out of School Care and Holiday Club services for children aged 2–12 years, creating safe, nurturing and engaging environments where children can learn, play and thrive.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Childcare Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team.
The successful candidate will work across our Playgroup, Out of School Care and Holiday Club services, supporting children aged 2–12 years through high-quality play experiences, positive relationships and responsive care.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience working with school-aged children and/or within an Out of School Care, Holiday Club or School Age Childcare setting.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support for children aged 2–12 years.
- Plan and deliver engaging, child-led activities and play experiences.
- Promote children's wellbeing, learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Complete observations, Personal Plans and other childcare records.
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks in line with organisational procedures.
- Support daily room set-up, cleaning and organisation of resources.
- Carry out health and safety checks and contribute to risk assessments.
- Participate in outings, educational visits and holiday club activities.
- Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures, Care Inspectorate requirements and organisational policies.
- Contribute to self-evaluation, service improvement and professional development activities.
Essential Requirements
- SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF Level 7, HNC Childhood Practice or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registered with the SSSC or willing and eligible to register.
- Experience working with children in a childcare, education or play setting.
- Good understanding of child development and children's wellbeing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience working within an Out of School Care or School Age Childcare setting.
- Experience supporting children with additional support needs.
- Knowledge of GIRFEC, SHANARRI and The Promise.
- First Aid and/or Food Hygiene qualifications.
