Carer Driver Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in various settings, including home care and care homes. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring that each patient receives the support they need to maintain their dignity and independence.
Duties
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support patients in mobility and transferring between locations, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, adhering to individual dietary needs.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care plans and report any changes in health or behaviour to the healthcare team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive to patients' homes when necessary, providing care in a familiar environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to IT systems used for patient management.
Skills
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to drive and travel as needed for home visits.
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Experience or knowledge of home care practices and care home environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software efficiently.
