Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service areas, contributing to the overall guest experience. Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
- Support chefs with cooking and plating as needed, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to comply with health and safety regulations
- Collect and wash used crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchenware promptly after service
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area throughout shifts, including floors, sinks, and storage spaces
- Assist with stock organisation and inventory checks to ensure supplies are readily available for daily operations
- Support the serving team during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with basic customer service tasks when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards is desirable
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary sector
- Basic understanding of hygiene practices relevant to food handling and kitchen maintenance
