Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a reputable care home. Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
- Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence for all residents
- Support training and mentoring of junior staff members to uphold high standards of care
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting
- Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and resident satisfaction
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation responsibilities but not essential
- Previous experience in senior care roles demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism
