Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to provide exceptional support to residents in a care home setting. This role involves working day or night shifts, offering vital assistance to individuals in need of personal care and companionship. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care, ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being at all times. Previous experience in care home or home care environments is advantageous, but full training will be provided. A friendly attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support residents with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Administer medication as per prescribed instructions and document accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents’ quality of life
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members regarding care needs and updates
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
- Support the organisation of activities that promote social engagement and mental well-being
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically
- Basic IT skills for documentation and updating care records
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to work flexibly across day and night shifts, including weekends if required
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
- Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
