Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Steel Door & Glazed Screen Installer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing steel doors and glazed screens across various commercial and residential projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and related trades to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. Applicants should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and assemble steel doors and glazed screens according to project specifications and schematics
- Install steel doors, frames, and glazed screens securely within designated openings
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to modify components as required
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and building regulations
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams to ensure seamless project progression
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans
- Maintain a clean and organised work site throughout the installation process
- Conduct quality checks on completed installations to ensure durability and compliance
Skills
- Proven experience in construction-related roles such as welding, carpentry, or fabrication is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction blueprints
- Experience in roofing, plumbing, electrical work, plastering, masonry or construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work from detailed schematics
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely and work at heights if required
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across different trades
- Valid relevant certifications or licences related to construction or welding are preferred but not essential

Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
