Bloomsford Is Hiring: Full-Time Assistant Gardener

Bloomsford is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and hard-working Assistant Gardener to join our professional gardening team.
We maintain beautiful private gardens and large estates across the Meon Valley and surrounding areas, with a strong focus on high standards, attention to detail and professional garden care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with substantial practical gardening experience, a genuine interest in horticulture, and a strong work ethic.
About the Role
As an Assistant Gardener, you will help deliver high-quality garden maintenance across a range of established private gardens and estates.
You will join a small team, support the daily care of each garden, and help ensure the team completes all work efficiently, safely, and to the high standard our clients expect.
This is a full-time, permanent position for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out high-quality garden maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, planting and mulching
- Helping maintain large gardens and estates to a high standard throughout the seasons
- Safely using garden tools and machinery, with additional training provided where required
- Supporting the team with daily tasks across different sites
- Maintaining excellent standards of presentation and attention to detail
- Communicating politely and professionally with clients when required
- Working effectively as part of a small and supportive team
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and takes genuine pride in their work.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant practical experience in gardening, estate maintenance, landscaping or a similar outdoor role
- A genuine interest in plants, gardens and horticulture
- A good eye for detail and high standards of workmanship
- Confidence using garden tools and basic machinery
- Knowledge of lawn care and maintenance would be advantageous
- A horticultural qualification is essential
- A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle
- Reliability, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Above all, we want someone who genuinely cares about gardens and takes real pride in their work. We are looking for someone who notices the small details, wants every garden to look its best, and treats each garden with care and respect rather than seeing it as simply another job.

Work Location
Most of our work is based throughout the Meon Valley, including Warnford, Droxford and West Meon. We also work in Warsash, Netley and the surrounding areas.
You must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle, as you may be required to meet the team at different locations or travel directly to individual sites.
