The Opportunity
The Wellbeing Factory is looking for an experienced and proactive Engineering Manager to take ownership of engineering, maintenance, reliability and site facilities across our manufacturing operation in Brandon.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong technical engineering knowledge with the ability to lead people, manage contractors and projects, control costs and drive continuous improvement.
The objective is simple:
Keep our people, facilities and equipment safe, compliant and reliable, while reducing downtime and improving the performance of the site.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the Engineering & Maintenance team and external engineering service providers.
- Building a proactive engineering culture based on ownership, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Owning and improving the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Leading breakdown response, fault finding and root-cause analysis.
- Maintaining and improving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and production equipment.
- Taking responsibility for site facilities, infrastructure and statutory engineering compliance.
- Identifying and eliminating recurring equipment failures.
- Reducing production downtime and improving equipment reliability.
- Leading engineering improvement, installation and commissioning projects.
- Developing CapEx proposals and managing projects from specification through to completion.
- Managing engineering contractors, suppliers, critical spares and maintenance expenditure.
- Introducing meaningful engineering KPIs covering downtime, PPM, reliability and maintenance cost.
- Working closely with Production, Operations, Quality and Finance to improve overall plant performance.
Facilities
Alongside engineering and maintenance, you will take ownership of the site's facilities and infrastructure.
This includes:
- Site infrastructure and essential services
- Facilities maintenance
- Statutory inspections and compliance
- Specialist facilities contractors
- Identifying infrastructure risks
- Planning remedial work and investment
- Ensuring the site remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose
About You
We're looking for an experienced engineer who can lead from the front.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing engineering or maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
- Experience managing both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
- Excellent practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production machinery, motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics and/or hydraulics.
- An engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
- A strong understanding of engineering health & safety and statutory compliance.
- A practical and commercially minded approach to maintenance and capital investment.
Desirable Experience
Experience with:
- PLC and control systems
- Drives and automation
- Packaging machinery
- FMCG manufacturing
- Fabrication and welding
- CMMS / maintenance management systems
- Engineering projects and CapEx would be advantageous.

- Wants to make a genuine improvement to the engineering function.
