Store Assistant
This full-time Store Assistant role pays £13.50 an hour, runs 40 hours Monday to Friday, and it's permanent, no seasonal small print. Interviews are happening this week, so if you can start within the next fortnight, you could be on the shop floor before the month's out.

Your day here is spent right in the middle of it, welcoming customers, helping them find what they came for (and the thing they didn't know they needed), taking payments, sorting deliveries and keeping the displays looking sharp when the footfall picks up. What You'll Be Doing
- Welcoming customers and setting a friendly tone from the moment they walk in
- Offering help naturally and giving clear, honest product advice without any hard sell
- Learning the store's products, promotions, stock availability and everyday policies
- Operating the till and handling cash, card and digital payments accurately
- Supporting returns, exchanges and general enquiries in line with store procedures
- Replenishing shelves, receiving deliveries and getting stock to the right place
- Keeping displays, shelves and customer spaces clean and presentable
- Helping with stock checks and flagging low stock, damaged goods or discrepancies
- Managing queues and moving between store areas during busier spells
- Following cash-handling, health and safety and loss-prevention procedures, with clear handovers between shifts
What We're Looking For
- Previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience is useful but not essential
- A friendly, professional way with all kinds of customers
- Reliability and good timekeeping
- Confidence to strike up conversation and answer questions clearly
- Attention to detail when handling payments and stock
- The ability to stay helpful and organised when the store gets busy
- A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn the products and procedures
- Availability to work 40 hours across rotating weekday shifts between 9:00am and 7:00pm, starting immediately or within two weeks

Working Pattern
40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, on rotating shifts within store opening hours of 9:00am to 7:00pm. Weekend work isn't normally required, a pattern that's genuinely hard to find in city-centre retail.
