The Museum is looking for a candidate with recent experience of managing risk and buildings compliance activities with building infrastructure across a range of building types, styles and ages. With qualification/experience in related health and safety disciplines.
This new role will provide essential coordination, technical support, and assurance across the Buildings Maintenance function to support the safe and effective delivery, maintenance, and improvement of Beamish’s built estate.
Working closely with contractors, stakeholders, and in-house teams, the role will support the safe operation and continual improvement of buildings, plant, and infrastructure, including heritage and specialist environments, ensuring that risks are identified, controlled, recorded, and escalated appropriately.
The role contributes to embedding best practice in health and safety and sustainability, including implementing permit-to-work systems, undertaking risk assessments, and helping to drive carbon reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.
By providing project coordination, technical oversight, and informed input into team priorities and budgets, the post will support the strategic development of the Beamish estate and ensure that operational, statutory, and sustainability objectives are consistently met.
