We have an exciting opportunity to join the Disability and Inclusion Team as a Disability Adviser for 2.5 days a week. Working within the wider Student Support and Success Team and part of the Disability and Inclusion Team, the role holder will provide information, advice and guidance to students, academic staff, professional staff and to applicants with disabilities, learning differences and long-term medical needs in line with the Equalities Act (2010) definition of disability.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that individual requirements can be met to support students. This will involve assessing students support requirements and drawing up Learning Agreements for students with additional needs. You will also support students to apply for and implement the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) and will ensure that any challenges with support, or in the academic environment, are solved swiftly and fully through the implementation of specialist disability knowledge. In addition, you will be actively involved in improving the accessibility of the University and in ensuring that its practices and procedures comply with the Equality Act (2010).
The successful candidate will work closely with other staff in the Student Support and Success Team as well as Professional Services and academic colleagues across the University and other external stakeholder groups
