Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Installation Engineer specializing in Busbar and Switchgear systems to join our innovative engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical components, ensuring seamless system integration and optimal performance. Duties
- Lead the installation and commissioning of busbar assemblies and switchgear equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct detailed site surveys, prepare installation plans using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation, and coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution.
- Perform root cause analysis on system faults or failures during installation or operation, implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Utilize programming skills with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Python, C++, or MATLAB to troubleshoot control systems and automate testing procedures.
- Develop and review electrical schematics and system design documents to verify accuracy before installation.
- Conduct debugging, soldering, signal processing assessments, and surface mount technology (SMT) work to ensure high-quality connections and system integrity.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components with mechanical systems, applying mechanical knowledge where necessary.
- Use CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CAD software for detailed component modeling and layout planning.
- Support firmware development and testing for embedded systems using ARM architecture or Perl scripting as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of installation activities, test results, and system modifications for quality assurance and future reference.
Skills
- Strong electrical engineering background with experience in system design, schematics creation, and electrical experience in high-voltage environments.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for designing layouts and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, debugging tools, and signal processing methods.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), firmware development, ARM processors, and system automation.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently using diagnostic tools to identify issues quickly.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink for simulation modeling and testing of electrical systems.
- Experience working with surface mount technology (SMT) components and surface-mount soldering techniques.
- Programming skills in Python, C++, Perl or similar languages for automation and control tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment assembly or integration within complex power distribution systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving under tight deadlines.
