Job Title: Café / Bakery Front of House Manager
Location: London, E11 2RL (Leytonstone area) – Local candidates preferred
Pay: From £31,500.00 per year + Potential Performance Bonus

Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7 on a rotating rota, including weekends)
Shift Note: Must be able to accommodate 5:30 AM starts on weekend shifts.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly organised Front of House Manager to lead, inspire, and elevate our front-of-house team. This is a pivotal role where you will shape the daily atmosphere, mentor a passionate team, and directly contribute to the growth and success of an independent local business.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead & Inspire: Mentor and motivate the FOH team to deliver impeccable customer service and maintain high operational standards.
- People Management: Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance reviews of FOH staff.
- Smart Scheduling: Create and manage the weekly staff rota, collaborating with the Head Chef to optimise labour costs while ensuring seamless floor coverage.
- Culture Builder: Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-energy work environment where team members feel valued.
Operational Excellence
- Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling, till reconciliation, and daily administrative tasks.
- Visual Merchandising: Maintain beautiful, well-stocked, and appetising counter displays for all baked goods and beverages.
- Stock & Waste Control: Monitor FOH inventory (coffee, milk, drinks..), coordinate ordering with the kitchen, and implement active strategies to minimise waste and spoilage.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all health and safety, food hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
Customer Experience & Sales
- Community Focus: Cultivate a warm, welcoming environment, ensuring every customer enjoys a memorable visit.
- Resolve with Grace: Address customer feedback and complaints professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences.
- Drive Business Growth: Actively encourage upselling, cross-selling, and the promotion of special offers or seasonal events.
- Kitchen Liaison: Maintain flawless communication with the kitchen team to ensure smooth order flow and ticket times.
What we are looking for
- Experience: 2+ years of proven experience in a FOH Management role within a fast-paced hospitality environment (bakery/café experience is highly advantageous).
- Coffee Passion: Competent barista skills with an understanding of specialty coffee standards.
- Leadership Flair: A natural motivator with exceptional communication skills and a hands-on management style.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with POS systems, inventory software, and spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google Sheets).
- Logistics: Must have the legal right to work in the UK and a reliable commute to London E11 (especially for those 5:30 AM weekend starts).
