Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative / Handy Person to ensure our restaurants remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, reactive repairs, and improvements across the UK, helping to support smooth daily operations for staff and guests.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections, reactive work and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimise downtime.
- Repair or replace faulty components, plumbing / electrical parts, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
- Assist with the installation of equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections on our software (training provided).
- Collaborate with colleagues to minimise operational disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Fast-paced restaurant setting requiring quick responses to maintenance needs while minimising disruption to guests and staff.
Skills
- Proven experience as a handyperson, maintenance operative, or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends if needed.
- Able to work/travel across the UK with nights away.
- Full Clean Driving License.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environment are advantageous.
- Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
Pay: £16.50 per hour
