Nortam Finishing offers specialist paint finishes to sectors such as Commercial, Aerospace, Defence and Medical. This is a very busy factory where a high level of attention to detail is required.
General duties include:
- Assist paint sprayers in preparation of work.
- Preparing metal work for painting, including sanding down of components.
- Basic masking of metal components before they go to be painted.
- Degreasing metal components.
- Filling of metal components.
- Packing of finished work.
- Shot blasting.
- General workshop duties.
- General health and safety.
- Forklift trained is advantageous, but not required.
- Completion of relevant paperwork is necessary, so a good understanding of the English language and a certain level of literacy is required.
This is a varied, hands-on position that will also combine workshop duties with customer-facing responsibilities. The successful applicant will assist with general workshop operations while also collecting and delivering customer parts, making occasional visits to customer and supplier sites.
As you will sometimes be the face of the company, you should take pride in your appearance, communicate professionally and provide excellent customer service at all times. No previous experience in aerospace finishing is required, as full training will be provided, but a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are essential.
This job would suit someone that has a good attention to detail and takes pride in their work. Candidate must be able to work as part of a team and also be able to work on their own.
Essential Requirements:
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Comfortable driving company vehicles to collect and deliver customer parts.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Full training will be given.
Full time position: 36.75 hours per week. Working hours are Monday-Thursday: 0800-1700, Friday: 0800-1300
