Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join The L&C Refurb team working within the social housing sector on behalf of Equans and Birmingham City Council. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
- Valid CSCS card
- Valid Manual Handling Certificate
- Valid Working at Height Certificate
- Valid Asbestos Certificate
Duties
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary before plastering.
- Mixing plaster and other materials to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
- Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with trowels, hawks, or spray equipment.
- Ensuring smooth, even finishes by skillfully using hand tools such as trowels and floats.
- Repairing damaged surfaces by removing old plaster and reapplying new layers.
- Assisting with bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding tasks as required on-site.
- Operating power tools safely and efficiently during the plastering process.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to meet health and safety standards.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople to complete projects within deadlines.
Skills
- Proven experience in plastering with a solid understanding of different techniques and materials.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, hawks, and spatulas.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with mixing and applying plaster products accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for achieving high-quality finishes.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when required.
Pay: £190.00-£250.00 per day
