Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Gardener to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, with experience in landscape maintenance and the use of various tools. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic setting, contributing to the creation and upkeep of beautiful, functional landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Planting, pruning, and cultivating a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees
- Using hand tools such as spades, shears, and rakes to maintain garden beds and lawns
- Operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and blowers safely and efficiently
- Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants
- Assisting with landscape design projects and implementing planting schemes
- Performing general landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilising, and weed control
- Monitoring plant health and identifying pests or diseases for appropriate treatment
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to landscaping tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and upkeep
- Growing experience with various plant species and understanding their care requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A proactive approach to safety procedures and environmental conservation
