Asset Technician

Role Summary:
To lead the development and continuous improvement of maintenance and asset reliability strategies across the operational area. The role is responsible for planning and coordinating major equipment overhauls, driving reliability improvement initiatives, and leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to deliver sustainable solutions to equipment failures. Working collaboratively with Operations, Quality, Safety, Maintenance teams and OEM, the Asset Technician will optimise asset lifecycle performance, improve equipment availability, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support site Reliability agenda: Identification of failure modes and trends, complete root cause analysis (RCA) processes and drive/deliver the agreed actions, define, and improve maintenance strategy for assets, including creation of B.O.Ms in SAP,
- Practice KHMS requirements and implement them in accordance to standards To deputise within control loops for the Engineering Leader, when required
- Accountable for assessing all corrective notifications in a timely manner for area of responsibility, ensuring the JIB (job in a box) process is followed and all parts are correct
- Support the scheduling of maintenance work for the next week during the Weekly Planning Meeting
- Support the overhaul / EEM process for area of responsibility
- To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment, following escalation from Craft on shift
- Provide support to and involvement in site Project and Change Initiatives as appropriate
- Liaise and manage OEMs / Suppliers and Contractors as required
- Ability to deliver on the job training (knowledge transfer) to new / existing colleagues and apprentices
- Ensure effective handover is completed to key stake holders following completion of any maintenance works (QRMP) and Completion of the Weekend Maintenance plan
- Knowledge of site hazards and controls, and compliance to permit process ensuring teams are competent for activities and compliant to site Ways of Working
Expected Experience and Required Skills:
- Recognised Engineering qualification is essential, HNC/HND/degree desirable
- A Methodical approach to fault finding to diagnose and repair faults on automation / electrical or mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a timely manner

- PLC experience essential - Siemens S5/S7 desirable (For Electrical bias)
